-The button on the left is changes the volume of the sound. To move the button, click on it and slide the mouse while keeping the mouse button down; then release the button. If the button goes up, the volume goes down; if the button goes down, the volume goes up.
-If you click on the instrument shown, you can get another one. The sound of the notes played is the sound of the instrument shown.
-There are two ways to produce music notes; with the mouse or with the keyboard. With the mouse, all you have to do is click on the musical keyboard shown in the window. With the keyboard, there is a one to one correspondence between the key you strike and the note played. For example, the lowest C note is heard by hitting the letter “q”( the keyboard note on the screen is also lowered as if it were played ); the following D note corresponds to the letter “w”, etc.
-You can save your piece of music by using the upper right hand commands.
-The buttons are, in order : start, play, rewind, forward, stop. To record, you must at first click the start button. Then, you play the sequences of notes. To end, you must click the stop button. The play button now shows up green instead of gray. To play the recorded piece, you must at first rewind it and then play it.
-To save the piece of music as a document, select «Save» from the «File» menu in the menu bar at the top of the screen or hit the command key and the “s” key at the same time. You’ll create a document.
